An image of a solitary rock formation surrounded by ocean is animated as it repeatedly rotates 360 degrees. After each rotation, when the horizon line becomes level, a guitar chord is played, providing a sense of celebration as the image momentarily returns to a traditional, more formally recognizable composition. This repeated celebration marks a point where the image ‘makes sense’ and falls within the relatable perimeters of landscape composition, creating an audible sigh of relief. The celebratory chord utilizes music’s ability to provide a sense of meaning and, in conjunction with the keyboard, ‘performs’ a soundtrack that seeks to unite the varying components in a questionable endeavor to elevate the work into that of the cinematic.
