The artist wanders, searching as if on a quest, awkwardly carrying large photographic images of parts of a desert landscape similar to the one in which he walks. There is a pause and the artist begins to sing a sorrowful melody, during which the images, positioned on tripods, reveal a visual alignment with the landscapes in which they are placed. In this Magritte-esque slippage between reality and it’s representation the artist positions himself between the two, attempting to conjure a sense of meaning through music that conveys the dilemma of comprehending feelings that arise when confronted with the overwhelming expanse of a desert landscape.
